Waterfront Properties | Marrowstone Island | For Sale

Marrowstone Island, Nordland WA. Capt. George Vancouver named Marrowstone Point in 1792 after the whitish cliffs behind it made of what he called "marrowstone,"  Nordland is named after 19th-century Norwegian immigrant Peter Nordby, who founded the Marrowstone settlement. Marrowstone Island is connected to the Olympic Peninsula by a bridge/causeway. No ferry necessary. However, from Seattle and points east, you will need to take a ferry to the peninsula or drive there from the south, via Tacoma.  About 900 people live on the Island, hundreds more on peak summer weekends, plus lots of deer.
